JHS Track & Field
Varsity and Junior Varsity Track is offered at Joplin High School for both boys and girls in 9th through 12th grade. Both the boys’ and girls’ track teams have been Conference Champs as well as District Champs in recent years. The boys’ team accomplished top 10 finishes in Missouri Class 4 in 2002 and 2004. Over the past five years, we have had 14 individuals and two relays receive all-state distinction. In the same period, we had 21 individual Conference Champions and seven Conference Champion Relays.
Track and Field Tryouts Information
Head Coach: Desmond Williams desmondwilliams@joplinschools.org
- Time: 4:00pm-6:00pm
- Location: Meet in Kaminsky Gym then JHS Football Field and Track (Weather Permitting)
- Required equipment: Running shoes, water bottle, spikes if using them.
- Dress: Appropriate dress for weather conditions, but ALWAYS have sweats with you
- Parent Meeting: Tuesday, March 3rd at 6:15pm in Kaminsky gym

Home track meets are held at Joplin High School.
Tryouts & Practice
Track is held during the spring sport season, February through May. Track practice is held at the track practice facility at JHS.
